Assignment #2 research
Walker Evans:
Walker Evans is known for his photographs of the everyday American life. Also he is known for the way his photographs convey everyones daily lifestyle. From the looks of his photogrpahs it looks like he tries to put emphasis on the american life by situating his subjects in the middle of his picture which truly conveys his ideaoly of how americans live their lives. He also takes different pictures in different locations to make sure that the people who see his pictures are aware of where the picture is being taken since the pictures have a clear indication wether it be a name of a restaurant or a familiarized setting. It looks as though all of his pictures are black and white with most of them being taken horizontally. His idea of a photograph would be to capture the idea of an american family.
Lee Friedlander:
lee friedlander would be considered to be more of a scenic type of photographer due to the fact that he enjoys taking pictures of places he has been. For example he enjoys to take pictures while he's in a car and of different places. Most of his pictures are in black and white and taken horizontally with the subject of his opicture being more to the left or more to the right however it seems as though it is never centered. it seems as though most of his ideas came from taking pictures of signs or landscapes as well as family households.

-What kind of camera do you use?
The camera that I use is the canon Power Shot SX20 IS.

This camera has a 12.1 megapixel resolution.
-What kind of media storage does it have?
My camera has a 4 GB media storage memory card HC.
-How do you download images to the computer?
My pc has a slot in it which enables me to take my memory card out of my camera which I then insert into the slot and I can download all my pictures with great ease.
-What is the name of the cord connecting the camera to the computer?
The name of the cord that attaches the camera to the computer is called the usb cord.
-How many low res images can you store on your disk?
I have one hard drive with 1 TB; however I only have 500 GB of free space. With each low resolution photo consisting of 650 KB, I would have enough space on my hard drive for approximately 1 Million low res pictures.
-How many high res images can you store on your disk?
I have one hard drive with 1 TB; however I only have 500 GB of free space with each photo consisting of 5 MB each of high resolution. This means that i would have approximately enough space to store 100,000 photos.
-What kind of image (file format) is stored on disk?
The file format is NTFS (New Technology Filing System), however it sometimes saves as a JPEG file.
-Do you have a camera manual? Have you read it?
I do have a camera manual, however no I have not read it due to the fact that I love to experiment with my camera and I learn from experimenting.
